Connecticut Green LEAF Schools Program
The Connecticut Green LEAF Schools Program, an initiative from the Connecticut Environmental Literacy Plan, encourages K-12 schools to create and improve their environmental and sustainability education, enhance the health and wellness of students and staff, and reduce the environmental impact of their buildings. The program is a strong collaboration of four Connecticut state agencies and more than 20 environmental, educational and civic organizations supports and nurtures the program. As a feeder for the national Green Ribbon Schools program, Green LEAF carries great recognition, yet it goes far beyond just a one-time award. The program provides mentors from the public and private sectors, as well as celebratory workshops and events to share best practices. The strong base of collaborators actively shares its resources and programs, striving to include all schools in the wealth of information that is available to our schools.
