Jenny Wiedower, K12 Manager
LEED® Green Associate
Jenny oversees existing efforts toward K12 initiatives, supports resource development and strategic planning, and presents to groups about the impacts of high-performing, healthy school buildings. She manages the Center’s Advisory Board, as well as involvement with partners in the K12 schools realm, including unique collaborations with organizations and USGBC Chapters across the country.
Jenny joined the Center for Green Schools in early 2011 after several years as Executive Director of the South Carolina USGBC Chapter. In her position, she worked with volunteers across the state to deliver education, raise awareness and advocate to professionals, citizens and decision-makers about the benefits of green building to communities, the environment and future generations.
The product of an architect father and historic preservationist mother, it was only a matter of time before Jenny set out on a career path focused on sustainable communities and responsible stewardship of the planet. Equipped with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rhodes College, and a Masters in Environmental Studies from the College of Charleston, Jenny has worked with nonprofits in Nashville and Charleston that advance triple-bottom-line communities, from the regional to neighborhood scale.
An Arkansas native, Jenny treasures being outdoors, whether in her own backyard (currently, the Logan Circle neighborhood in Washington, D.C.) or across the globe; and preferably in the company of good friends and family.
