Today, USGBC unveils Learning Lab, an online education platform for K–12 teachers to find a robust selection of sustainability curricula. Learning Lab provides teachers and school leaders with comprehensive, project- and STEM-based curriculum (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), encouraging student leadership, sustainability literacy and real-world action. This launch is an important step toward realizing USGBC’s goal of supporting sustainability education at all stages of a learner’s life.

In response to a key recommendation from the 2014 National Action Plan for Educating for Sustainability to develop digital delivery channels for high-quality curriculum, USGBC created Learning Lab and tested it in a pilot phase that included 1,400 educators from 26 countries. In celebration of the platform’s launch, we are offering free access to educators through August 2016. Please visit learninglab.usgbc.org and sign up to take advantage of these great sustainability education resources, or attend an upcoming webinar to learn more and take a tour of the platform. Request a post-webinar recording.

USGBC brings together a network of Education Partners and fosters collaboration to ensure Education @USGBC is the go-to place for sustainability professionals looking for diverse resources that extend their knowledge and practice. Similarly, the dynamic catalog of content on Learning Lab offers best-in-class, diverse resources, meeting the needs of K–12 schools across the world.

Content on Learning Lab represents leading K–12 sustainability curriculum developers. Some of the founding partners for Learning Lab include EcoRise Youth Innovations, The Nature Conservancy, Representaciones e Inteligencia Sustentable and the Global Oneness Project. Through the platform, our Education Partners will showcase their standards-aligned lesson plans (such as “School Food Eco-Audit,” “Me Gusta El Agua” and “Sustainable Cities,”), interactive projects and other multimedia resources. Resources are available in a growing suite of languages to meet the needs of an expanding global audience.

Through Learning Lab, USGBC and its network of Education Partners will drive the transformation of K–12 education by providing schools and districts with a solution for accessing curriculum that equips students of today with the skills, knowledge and dispositions they need to be prepared to foster a more sustainable future.

We’re hard at work recruiting the best content creators in this field. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an Education Partner and having your work included on the Learning Lab platform, please complete this interest form.
