This month, Kimberly Tseng (LEED AP BD+C) was recognized as one of USGBC's Above and Beyond Volunteers - volunteer leaders whose contributions have led to outstanding achievements in the green building movement.
Tseng has been a key asset in the launch of USGBC Louisiana’s first-ever Green Schools Challenge. In the program’s inaugural year, she spearheaded a state-wide effort to bring on board over 40 schools – impacting 10 parishes, 37 mentors, and over 7,000 students! According to Chapter Coordinator Jolie Lemoine, Tseng “embodies the definition of an invaluable volunteer and has truly gone above and beyond in her duties as the Chair of the Green Schools Challenge, as well as a member and supporter of the USGBC Louisiana Chapter.”
Through Tseng’s loyal commitment to the growth of green schools in Louisiana, she has facilitated year-round coordination of the program by:
- Giving informational presentations to school districts in the region;
- Creating top-of-the-line marketing materials; and
- Leading coordination of Green Apple Day of Service projects in 2013.
It takes a trailblazer like Tseng to go out there and state the case that where we live, work, play and learn matters! Thank you, Kimberly!
