Green School Design and Construction Leaders Network

The Green School Design and Construction Network connects school system staff who are working on capital planning and capital projects connect, learn, and share best practices for sustainability.

Recognizing that capital planning and capital projects staff and leaders may have several other professional groups that they are engaged with, our network members guide what we offer. We provide quarterly community conversations to connect members and hear about the most pressing needs they have related to green design and construction, and our staff responds with educational offerings, publications, and research.

If you are interested in connecting with peers to move the ball forward in your school system and make your school building projects healthier, more environmentally regenerative, and more supportive of sustainability education, we invite you to join. Programs and opportunities
  • Annual School System Staff Summit: Each year, network members have the opportunity to attend an in-person summit in conjunction with the Green Schools Conference. This event brings together peers to share common challenges, focus on leadership skills and bigger programming goals, access timely resources, share best practice ideas, and find renewed inspiration to keep the important work going.
  • Virtual learning and networking: The Center hosts regular and timely webinars, such as the series on federal funding opportunities, held in 2023 in response to network member request. We also host quarterly, informal community conversations allowing members to collaborate on shared challenges and share successes. View upcoming events and recordings of past webinars. Members also stay in touch daily through a closed communication platform where they can post questions, share resources, and network with peers working on similar initiatives.
  • Greenbuild Conference & Expo Opportunities: As the U.S. Green Building Council’s premiere opportunity to convene our green building community, the Greenbuild Conference & Expo is an excellent time to learn cutting edge strategies, explore new products, and connect in person with other capital planning and capital projects staff. We offer discounted opportunities and special events to network members around the conference.
