The most common respiratory symptoms reported among Romanian school children were the flu-like symptoms (30.4%), the most frequent being runny nose (20%). The second prevalent respiratory symptoms were ‘asthma-like symptoms’ (19.6%), with dry cough as the most reported symptom among participants (20%). Additionally, the prevalence of ‘allergy-like symptoms’ was 17.5%, among which, sneeze (11%) was most commonly reported. In summary, the prevalence of any respiratory symptoms was 39.3% among study participants.
